Ina Eksteen


Ina Eksteen is well-known for her expressionistic style and bright color application. She prefers to work in acrylics, but also do oils on occasion.
She is inspired by the various South African landscapes, such as the Overberg in the Cape Region and apply this effectively in her expressionistic and bright style.

Ina was born in 1961 and received her love for art from her father, well-known South African Artist, Pieter Millard. She was inspired by her father’s passion for color.

Her formal art training was done at the Impro-Art School on the West Rand, Gauteng. The School was founded and pioneered by her father, Pieter Millard. Over some years, Ina received more intensive training from her father at his Studio. She is also involved in the Art Business with her family in South Africa for nearly 25 years.

Ina’s expressionistic style of work was introduced to Art Dealers and Art Galleries throughout South Africa in the mid 90’s. Over the years, her work was seen at art exhibitions, private functions and Art Galleries. She was commissioned by private organizations to paint various subjects in oils and acrylics.

She has developed in depicting her expressionistic application and use of colour towards Street Café Scenes, Still Life, Flowers and Tuscan Landscapes.

During 2008 and 2009 Ina is working on other ways of expressing her creative flair. Her new work is influenced by her love and passion for people, interior decor and landscape. More of her work will be released soon.

Ina’s work can be seen at Art Galleries in Gauteng and in North West.

Ina is married to Andries and has 3 children. They reside on the West Rand.
