Carla Krige was born in 1977, in Lydenburg, South Africa. At a young age, Carla discovered her artistic flair as a young girl, whilst improving on her brother’s art attempts. Carla attended art school and her passion for art came alive. She worked as a graphic designer for a few years, before pursuing a solo career as an artist.
She is currently the proud owner of an Art Gallery and fulfills her dream of producing art with narrative and meaning. Her work is characterized by the vivid application of form and colour in a very realistic style to bring the personality’s of her characters to life. Her subject matter consists mostly of ordinary people arrested in a moment where they are oblivious to the examining eye of an observer.

Carla resides in Rustenburg in the North West Province in South Africa.
